Product managers work with Industry Managers and translate marketing requirements into product requirements. Negotiate with engineering for development resources and schedule product feature integration and roll-out. Will work with Marketing, Sales and Industry sources to define and establish product requirements for host based tools to facilitate ease-of-use. Multiple applications, and management systems for Excel switching products. Host tools include internally developed products as well as third party product offerings that compliment Excel's products. The individual will also participate in the definition of switch features which compliment the host tools offerings. The product manager will be responsible for the complete life-cycle of the products including conception, development, deployment, and product retirement.
Responsible for providing the detailed technical requirements for new product features. The individual will work closely with product managers, engineers, product marketing managers, and customers to understand the over-all product requirements and define them in terms of detail product requirements. The individual must be able to understand platform requirements working with customers and industry source (forums, committees, technical specifications), estimate development efforts and feasibility, and assist with implementation decisions and phasing. Develop the marketing strategy and implement programs to make Excel's products and technology the preferred means of implementing network infrastructure solutions. This position is responsible for the Industry/Product Marketing associated with Excel's host- and switch-based software products. This position is responsible for the Enhanced Services Platform Market management and Product Marketing Management for Excel's Switch Option/Feature Products (non-DSP and non-line protocol products), within the context of Excel's overall business strategy and resources. BS Accounting or Finance (or equivalent), Min. 3 years' experience in a high tech manufacturing environment with solid experience in cost accounting. Familiarity with an MRP system (DataWorks a plus). Familiar with standard cost systems and methods of inventory valuation. Computer literacy.
